Signs It May Be Time for a New Vinyl Liner
Vinyl liners don’t fail overnight. Most homeowners start noticing small warning signs long before replacement becomes necessary. If your liner is showing visible wear, recurring leaks, or ongoing issues, it may be time to consider replacement before bigger problems develop.
Wrinkling or Liner Pulling from Track
- Wrinkles, slipping edges, or sections pulling out of the liner track can be signs of aging, shifting, or liner deterioration over time.
Fading & Discoloration
- Years of sun exposure and chemical use can cause vinyl liners to fade, lose color, and make the entire pool look worn or outdated.
Recurring Leaks
- If you’re constantly patching new holes or dealing with recurring leaks, there’s a point where replacement becomes the smarter long-term solution.
Heavy Pool Use & Dogs
- Frequent swimming, pool parties, and dogs using the pool can put additional wear on vinyl liners and shorten their lifespan over time.
Your Liner Is 8–12+ Years Old
- Most vinyl liners eventually lose flexibility and durability as they age. Older liners are more likely to crack, wrinkle, leak, or fail unexpectedly.
